The Glenn Ladycats completed the 2012-13 basketball season with a 13-13 overall record after bowing out of the NCHSAA State Basketball Playoffs on Monday night, falling to Ardrey Kell 48-38.

The #12 seeded Ladycats held their own with the #5 seeded Knights from Ardrey Kell, matching them point for point in the first half as the teams were tied 16-16 at the intermission.

Ardrey Kell’s Jordan Muhammed gave her team a lift in the second half, scoring 11 of her 18 points after the break.  Muhammed hit 4 of 5 from the foul line in the final two minutes of the game to keep the Ladycats at bay.

Glenn came to within 3 points with four minutes to play, but that was as close as they could get, as the Knights stiffened on defense and converted 8 of 10 free throws in the fourth quarter to grab the 10 point win.

Glenn’s senior guard Deonna Young closed out her career as a Ladycat with a game high 21 points.  Congratulations Deonna on a great career!
